Here is a request for enhancement (minor GUI/logics issue):

when a message is being sent, you are still able to type in the edit widget. It would be better to lock it, because if you have time to type something, it will not be trivial to understand if your latest changes to the message have been sent or not (read: taken into account before it got sent), and if you were just typing a new message, the typed chars are lost and you have to re-type them when the edit widget gets emptied.

Such sending delay mostly happens to me w/ ICQ when direct sending is tried and will fail for instance, or w/ MSN because sending is sometimes slow.
